Xiaomi is set to launch the successor to the Mi A1 in India at a media event today. Ahead of the formal India launch today, the Mi A2 has been spotted on Amazon India, complete with pricing information.
Xiaomi Mi A2: Price in India Revealed Ahead of Launch
According to the Mi A2 listing on the Amazon app, the smartphone will be priced at Rs.17,499. That’s the price for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. You can, in fact, pre-order the smartphone currently on Amazon.in. As reported previously, Xiaomi is not likely to launch the base 4GB RAM + 32GB storage variant in India.
The 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant of the smartphone is also unlikely to arrive in India. While the Mi A2 will be an Amazon-exclusive in India, consumers will also be able to purchase the Android One smartphone from Mi.com. More details with regards to the availability of the smartphone will be revealed tomorrow at the Mi A2 launch event.

Xiaomi Mi A2: Specifications, Features
The Xiaomi Mi A2 features a 5.99-inch Full-screen IPS LCD display with 1080 x 2160 Full HD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio, identical to the Redmi Note 5 Pro. Xiaomi claims the panel has 1500:1 contrast ratio and is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5, offering good protection against scratches and damage. Under the hood, Xiaomi Mi A2 runs on the mighty Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core mid-range chipset clocked at 2.2 GHz with an Adreno 512 GPU.
In terms of memory, the Mi A2 is expected to be available in a single configuration in the Indian market with 4GB of RAM and Android One smartphone from Xiaomi boasts a 12MP + 20MP dual-camera setup with AI-powered Portrait Mode and 4K video capture at 30 fps. On the front of the smartphone is a 20MP snapper with AI-powered Beautify 4.0, HDR, and Portrait Mode features. Connectivity-wise, the Mi A2 offers Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, USB Type-C port, 4G VoLTE, and an IR blaster.
The smartphone packs a 3010mAh capacity non-removable battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support for fast charging. The Mi A2 also comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. In terms of software, the Mi A2 runs on stock Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box and is guaranteed to receive regular security updates and will likely receive two major OS upgrades as well.

At Rs.17,499, the Mi A2 will be Rs.2,500 more expensive than the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant of the Redmi Note 5 Pro and Rs.500 more than the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. While the price may seem a little steep, you should keep in mind that the Mi A2 does offer a few significant upgrades compared to the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The 12MP + 20MP dual-camera setup offers improved image quality and can also capture 4K Ultra HD videos at 30fps.

In terms of performance, the combination of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset and stock Android means the Mi A2 will offer superior performance compared to all of its rivals.
